crysis 3 review by me

Hello friends,

Friends this time I'm writing a review on the PC version of CRYSIS 3. CRYSIS is not a unknown game for any PC gamer, as it is the most good looking fps Powerd by CRYENGINE 3. The game is very good and I guess everyone should try it. so before you think on your own or go to any other site for reading the reviews and ratting for CRYSIS 3, before that you can check out the following positive points of CRYSIS 3:

1.Graphics:
When it comes to graphics CRYSIS looks always great, so is the CRYSIS3 its powered by CRYENGINE 3  as always and the did a very great job in every aspect of the graphics stuff, starting form character models to landscapes all the levels boss models and everything are all well developed. The aliens looks are very good too they look better than CRYSIS2 . About graphics i cant find out any bad areas in CRISIS 3 .

2.Gameplay:
When it comes to gameplay if you will ask me the 1st thing that I'm going to tell you is that , its very hard for me, like all other previous crysis games i felt this one too is a bit hard. i don't know how other thinks abut the difficulty levels of crysis 3, however the gameplay is very awesome, you can either use stealth or attack head on its up to you. using all those nano suite power is great as always.

3.Story:
The game has a great story , i started liking crysis game after crysis 2 and then i played crysis war head which has a separate story, and finally this cysis 3 too got a very good story, when i 1st saw the trailer of the game i thought that the story of the game is not going to be good, but as i played it i came to realize that its very awesome and great. at the end of the game prophet tells that the war is over for now only so i guess we can wait for another awesome crysis game.

now lets come to some bad stuff that i faced while playing crysis 3, can you guess what i m going to write next. haaaa........there is nothing bad about crysis 3 . Only it has a short gamplay hour which is around 10hrs.

so that's it guys i hope this review will help you for deciding whether to get the game and play it or not

bye bye have a good day

LOGO for my youtube channel and intro too

hello friends,
i had worked for some days on this logo and intro i prepared, before preparing this i give it a run in my mind what would be batter a text animation or just a logo then i came into the conclusion that a logo is more effective than a text animation. so this is a 3d logo prepared with the help of element 3d and after effects. when i prepared it at the beginning it kind of looked dull, then i asked my friend Ashis to give me suggestion on the logo to how to make it look more attractive, than he gave this idea to make it more colorful. so final the result is here and i like the intro . hope you guys will like it. feel free to comment after watching the video, it will be very helpful for me in creating better videos.

miss A HUSH

Miss A, commonly stylized as miss A, is a four member Chinese-Korean girl group based in South Korea. The group consists of Fei, Jia, Min, and Suzy. i am big fan of Suzy after i saw the drama dream high,  at that time she was very small compared to all the stars in that drama. i loved to watch that drama a lot and enjoyed it very much, if any of you had not seen the drama dream high yet then i suggest you to watch it, because its a very nice drama with love, motivation, determination, will to grow etc i cant think of any more word for that drama as of now. recently i haven't seen or heard any music or video from miss a and than i found out this music video when i was youtubing, and i found it really interesting. so in the end if any of you like k pop then give it a try the name of the song is " miss a HUSH". if you ask me I'm going to watch it definitely because I'm a big fan of Suzy.

Why to watch korean drama

Hello everyone,
Now this is 8:30 am in the morning and I thought of reviewing a Korean drama, so I'm here doing so. I am a big fan of Korean drama and I think not just me but there are a lot of fan who love to watch Korean drama. Any one can be attracted towards the charm of Korean drama once they watched it, I can say so because that's how it worked for me and I believe for a lot of people it worked that way too. If you don't believe in my words then give it a try on your own and then you will see what happens.

Why we got attracted towards Korean drama?
There are a lot of good thing in a K-drama that's why people got attracted towards it then any other drama. I am going to mention some of the point that worked for me :
  •  They are short in length most of the time, not like most of the dramas in India which just go on.
  • The beginning and the ending of a episode are always good. They know how to start a episode and how to end it , which will create a good flow of watching a drama.
  • Till now I completed more than 10 dramas like, Full house, Boys over flowers, Play full kiss, I am SAM, City hunter, faith, Dr Jin time slip, Gu family book, My girlfriend is a nine tailed fox, Shark etc and now too watching a couple of dramas and i feel that the actress and actors in all drama did a very great job. They will make you fill there pain.
  • It will give you that nice ride of a fantasy life in a very short time.
So that's all the point that i can think of now, if any one out there who want to add some more point write it down in the comment box below and its going to be very helpful for improving the post. So that's it for now everyone, i will be back with a great post very soon.
BYE HAVE FUN

T-ARA[티아라] "NUMBER NINE REVIEW

Hello everyone,
So hows everybody doing, no matter how I hop you all do good and for doing so in every moment whether good or bad what most of the people like me do? Can you guess it! yes you guess it right I listen music to stay positive in any situation and keep on doing what need to be done, what is right without any rest. Because musics have this kind of energy which heals things and makes everything good, the experience  may be different with respect to each of the individual.

You by now probably wondering why I am writing so deep thought of mine about the experience we feel after listening the song, so let me tell you, it is all because of the new song of T-ARA. The name of the song is "NUMBER NINE" , I became a fan of T-ARA after listening there song "roly poly". The video of "roly poly"  and dance were all so cool that I am following T-ARA since then . Every time a new video of this K-POP group comes out try to check it out. So this time  its the number nine the song is in bill board list of K-POP. At first I thought that the song not going to be that good that's why I went for downloading the mp3 first but it came out to be very good. Believe me everyone the song is very nice and its as good as and even better if you ask me then there song day by day which was released some months past.

The song and the MV is a whole package, I assure you that everyone is definitely going to  enjoy this one for sure the dance choreography is also very nice and  except this there are other good songs in this album. Finlay let me tell you all T-ARA members are very good as always to see, so i recommend this video to everyone.  HAVE FUN

IU THE RED SHOES

Hello everyone,

This post today is going to be completely about "Lee Ji-eun", what are you wondering who she is. I already give you a clue, by referring the person as she, still you are not sure who she is. Then let me tell you she is otherwise know as "IU" her stage name. Now when every thing is clear and you know who she is, you all probably should know that she recently released her new music video named as "The Red Shoes".

I 1st saw this actress in the famous drama "Dream High", when i was watching the drama  at that time i did not know that all of the actors and actress in the drama are all k pop stars. But when in that one episode when they give this one audition in the beginning of the episode, I really like to hear that sweet voice of her and the song, so I Googled her name out and found out at last that see too is a k pop idol. All the songs she sang in the drama i remember were very cool and very nice to listen. After that drama, I hadn't seen much of her MV's but heard the mp3s and there were a list of very good song, that i'm preparing which i will upload soon. But this time i'm only going to review this MV only.

The music video got a really retro music and the costumes are all colour full and there are some parts when they show everything in black and white that parts too without color look very nice, but if i have to give an over all comment on how the video is?, then i will tell that even without the music the video is made very well and everyone should definitely check it out. After saying all the above thing and my complements about the video i know that there are some who  are not going to agree with me . There fore for those who don't know how its going to be for them the music really counts, and for those too who don't watch videos much but only listens to the music for them, let me tell you that the music is very well again i'm saying that the music got some classical retro old school type and very cheerful and in k pop i haven't heard song like this for a while. The lyrics is very well written, in here i mean by the English translated meaning of the song because i don't understand Korean very well because my vocabulary is not that strong in hanguka, but here there is still a positive point for those who are like me & don't know Korean much but still addicted to k pop.

Finally let me tell you she begged a Show Champion for this song, therefore i think its not going to be a waste of time giving this song a try. so this is it for now bye until the next post.

hope every one enjoyed reading it, please leave comment below.

Click HereAngry Birds Go! gameplay trailer released,

AngryBirdsGO.jpg

Rovio, the Finnish developer that rose to fame with the iconic mobile game franchise, Angry Birds, will soon launch its new game, Angry Birds Go!, for free.

The Angry Birds Go! is a kart-racing game that brings the Angry Birds characters to a brand new downhill kart racing set-up. The developer has posted a gameplay trailer of the Angry Birds Go! on its blog and informs, "It's a complete first for the Angry Birds series, featuring high-octane downhill racing, upgradable karts, tons of characters with unique special powers and a fully rendered 3D world."

The game would be available worldwide on December 11 on all major mobile platforms including Android, iOS, Windows Phone 8 and even BlackBerry 10, via respective app stores. Angry Birds Go! would be a free-to-play title, and will offer a number of modes and features.

"In Angry Birds Go! you can feel the rush as you fling down the track and go head-to-head in a fast and furious race to the finish line! Look out for treacherous roads, mischievous opponents and unique special powers to put the race leader behind the pack. Plus you can go from homemade soapbox car to a super-fly car by upgrading your ride. It's all there, along with crazy stunt and air tracks, and many fun and surprising game modes," says the blog post, describing the gameplay.

Gamers will also be able to transport Hasbro's TELEPODS live figure karts to the game just like Angry Birds Star Wars II. This is essentially an augmented reality based feature where users can scan live figures via the device's camera and transport it to the game.

The gameplay appears to be similar to other kart-racing games like the Super Mario Kart, Sonic & Sega: All Stars Racing and Crash Nitro Kart.

Rovio had first posted a teaser image of the game in June with a teaser video, later. Angry Birds Go! will be the eighth game in the popular series, following the original Angry Birds, Angry Birds Seasons, Angry Birds Rio, Angry Birds Space, Angry Birds Star Wars, Angry Birds Star Wars II and Angry Birds Friends, and excluding the Bad Piggies spinoff.

Redesigned Google Play Store for Android revealed in leaked images

Redesigned Google Play Store for Android revealed in leaked images

By Chris Welch

Android users may soon see a redesigned Google Play Store, judging by newly leaked screenshots of an unreleased update. It's not what we'd call a drastic overhaul, but Google seems to be transitioning away from its current overlay menu system in favor of a slide-out navigation drawer. The company has shown a liking for this user interface style across its other Android applications, so it should come as no surprise to see it implemented in the Play Store. The leaked build is version 4.4, but whether the Play Store update will arrive ahead of Google's forthcoming release of Android 4.4 KitKat is unclear. Android Police reports that the new Play design is already being tested on Android 4.4 devices — presumably including the Nexus 5 — so at the very least it should accompany the new OS.

Google Nexus 7 (summer 2013) review

hell,
this time i brought this review from c net, because i got this comment on by Ashis on galaxy tab 3 that GOOGLE nexus 7 is way batter then galaxy tab 3, there for the following is the detailled review of Nexus 7, CNET in this review covered all the good point and bad point but as i looked in to the review by CNET i only got more good points than the bad one and i got into this conclusion that its really some good work done by Nexus 7 development team. one thing that i really need to tell you that i haven't tested the tab yet, but there are certain users who used the tab and facing certain problem's in it, to find more about the problem faced by the users there is a link below provided by CNET as you go down the post. i hope you are going to enjoy this post as its very detailed review of Nexus 7, and it will too help you to decide whether to buy it or not for sure.

Google Nexus 7 (summer 2013) review

The good: The Nexus 7’s razor-sharp full-HD screen, silky smooth performance, long battery life, meager weight, and affordable price make it the best tablet value on the market.
The bad: The back is missing the soft grippy texture of the original, screen colors lack accuracy, and there's no microSD support. Android 4.3 has few useful interface improvements.
The bottom line: Thanks to its stellar performance and affordable price, the Nexus 7 is the Android tablet to get.

Pound for pound, the Nexus 7 is the best small tablet you can buy. It houses a ridiculously sharp, bright screen, its gaming performance is second only to the fourth-generation iPad, and as a Google-branded tablet it will always see the latest version of Android before any other tablet brand.
Also, at $230 (for 16GB), it's still an affordable tablet with one of the highest values in the market, despite a $30 price hike over the previous generation. The $270 32GB Wi-Fi model and $350 4G LTE version are even better values, especially compared with similar configurations of the iPad Mini.
Yes, it's not as cheap as some of the top small tablets from 2012, its screen isn't as big as the iPad Mini's, and Android 4.3 lacks a few useful UI features Samsung plugged into its Galaxy Tab 3. However, those are only nitpicks considering the Nexus 7's sharp-as-nails screen and blazingly fast performance. Despite its imperfections, it's the first small tablet I'd recommend and is the current best tablet value around.

Editors' note: Although CNET's test unit proved free of major issues, some Nexus 7 owners have experienced a few technical snafus with their devices. For more on these issues, check here

Design
At 0.64 pound, the Nexus 7 is the lightest tablet yet, and with a 4.5-inch width when held in portrait orientation, it's probably the easiest to fit in one hand. It's an extremely simple design, black in color, and it honestly lacks much in the way of panache. It's a harsher tablet compared with the original, and I miss the 2012 Nexus 7's soft, much more inviting feel.
The smooth matte finish of the tablet's back isn't as comfortable or as grippy as the soft leathery back of the 2012 Nexus 7. Also, the new tablet's corners aren't as pleasantly rounded and the Micro-USB port on the bottom edge sticks out just enough to be distracting when held in landscape mode.

This hopefully gives you an idea of the texture difference between the old and new Nexus 7.
(Credit: Josh Miller/CNET)
The top and bottom bezels span about an inch in length each, and the side bezels are even more compressed than the original's; however, despite their more slender turn, errant screen taps don't appear to be a problem.

Side bezel width in inches (landscape) 1.0 0.8 0.81 0.75 0.7
Along the right edge are an easy-to-find power/sleep button and volume rocker, and there's a headphone jack on the top edge. A front-facing camera sits on the top bezel toward the right corner, and the rear camera rests behind on the backside, nestled deep in the left corner. Also on the back are two sets of speaker grilles, one near the top and another on the bottom, next to the Micro-USB port.
Software features
The Nexus 7 ships with the very latest version of Android (4.3), and to be quite honest, the OS isn't much different from the previous incarnation (4.2.2). At least not obviously so. For a detailed look at the updated OS' features, check out our Android 4.3 review.

One of the few notable Android 4.3 additions is the Multi-User Restricted Profiles feature, which allows you to set up accounts with extremely limited access.
(Credit: Josh Miller/CNET)
The notable new features are Multi-User Restricted Profiles, OpenGL ES 3.0 support, and Bluetooth Smart. User profiles were introduced with Android 4.2, and the latest version allows you to add a kid-friendly profile that the primary profile controls. The restricted profile will only have access to apps deemed acceptable and will have no access to the Play store. It's an ideal solution for families wanting to share a single tablet; however, Google leaves the decision of implementing it up to the developer.
OpenGL ES 3.0 improves polygonal graphics performance and allows the tablet to better handles effects like lens flares, shadows, and other shader effects. With Bluetooth Smart, the Nexus 7 can connect to a newer generation of Bluetooth devices as well as transmit metadata like song titles.

I'm a huge fan of close-up pics of tablet buttons. Actually, I'm not, but I liked this particular pic so much, I married it. That's also not true.
(Credit: Josh Miller/CNET)
The other 4.3 changes are minor or so deep into the back end that most people will never notice the difference. It's certainly not as satisfying a leap as 4.1 to 4.2 was, and we'll likely have to wait until Android 5.0 to get some really meaty and truly exciting software upgrades.
Hardware features
The 7-inch Nexus 7 houses a 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro system on chip with a quad-core Krait CPU and a single-core Adreno 320 GPU. It has 2GB of RAM and includes support for 802.11 a/b/g/n (2.4GHz and 5GHz) Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 (including Bluetooth Smart support), and a GPS. Additionally, a gyroscope, accelerometer, and a digital compass are included as well.

The Micro-USB port doubles as an HDMI port, as long as you have the required (costs about $30) adapter.
(Credit: Josh Miller/CNET)
The tablet supports SlimPort, which allows you to use the Micro-USB port as an HDMI port via a $30 adapter, but there is no physical HDMI port on the Nexus 7.
NFC support returns, and we also get wireless charging, which according to Google will allow any Qi-compatible charger to fill the Nexus 7's battery. And that does indeed appear to be the case, as the Nokia Lumia DT-900 wireless charger worked without issue; however, the actual charging speed was painfully slow compared to a wired charge.
Performance
First things first, the Nexus 7's screen is incredibly sharp and text is particularly fine and easy to read. You may not fully appreciate its high pixel density immediately, but when looking at it next to almost any other tablet screen, the Nexus 7 clearly comes out on top. It's also one of the brightest tablet displays I've ever seen. Colors are more accurate and fuller compared with the 2012 Nexus 7 and the contrast ratio is noticeably higher. Viewing angles are wide and images appear to have a fuller, more corporeal integrity.

Behold the beauty of the Nexus 7's razor-sharp screen.
(Credit: Josh Miller/CNET)
However, despite its color improvements, the 2013 Nexus 7's screen doesn't represent color as accurately or vibrantly as the 8-inch Samsung Galaxy Tab 3's, though the Tab 3's screen isn't as sharp. The Nexus 7's screen looks comparatively greenish when looking at pictures or movies of faces and sometimes pushes purple when lots of bright colors are in the mix. Most won't notice, but it definitely stands out with the two tablets side by side.

The screen responds immediately to touches and apps whiz by as fast as you can swipe them. Switching between different apps quickly and scrolling through Web pages is as smooth and zippy as I've ever seen on any tablet. However, the interface has its fair share of Android wonkiness; over the course of several hours I experienced a few hangs, an unresponsive screen, and a keyboard that simply didn't want to go away. These problems were easily fixed with a quick sleep mode and back induction, though.
Wi-Fi speeds were consistently high with no spotty connection issues when within a reasonable distance from our internal network. The Nexus 7's battery lasted throughout the day while downloading apps, surfing the Web, and receiving plenty of notifications. In our official tests it lasted an impressive 11.5 hours; longer than any small Android tablet before it and right under the current small tablet battery champ, the iPad Mini. For details on the test methodology, check here.

A serious pusher of polygons
Next to the fourth-generation iPad, the Nexus 7 is the fastest tablet I've seen at running polygonal games. Real Racing 3 and N.O.V.A. 3 looked particularly impressive with smooth frame rates and sharp graphics with minimal aliasing on edges; however, like on many other Android tablets, Real Racing 3 loses its rearview mirror feature on the Nexus 7.

The best-performing small tablet for gaming. 'Nuff said. Well, I actually do say more in the paragraph below.
(Credit: Josh Miller/CNET)
Riptide GP2 is an incredibly impressive game with lots of customizable graphical effects options and even with its effects tuned to maximum, the Nexus 7 delivered smooth gameplay at more than 30 frames per second that many times looked to approach and hit a full 60fps. This easily and consistently bested the Nexus 10 in its presentation.

The Nexus 7 blows away all previous small tablets in both 3DMark and GFXBench scores, but only matched the best small tablets in Nova 3 first level load speed.

Oh, tablet cameras. Will you ever provide any real value?
The Nexus 7 continues the tablet trend of placing mediocre shooters on their bodies. Both the 1.2-megapixel front camera and 5-megapixel back camera make faces look greenish and sickly in pics, and while each picks up a bit more fine detail than most tablet cameras, shadows look dithered and blurry.
The dual speakers are above average quality for a tablet, but don't get as loud or sound as full as the 2012 Kindle Fire HD's, which are still the best tablet speakers in the market. They're not bad by any means, but they will do nothing to change your perspective on tablet speakers. I used 'The Avengers' from the Play store to test the surrounds sound. The effect is convincing, but to be honest, prefer using earbuds when watching movies and TV shows on tablets.
Yet, there are still alternatives
As good as the Nexus 7 is, it may not be for everyone as different users have varied tablet needs.

The original Nexus is now available for as low as $150.
(Credit: Josh Miller/CNET)
The 2012 version of the Nexus 7 is still a great tablet supported by the latest version of Android and starts now at $150 (at Walmart). The Nook HD is $130 (though it's being phased out), and the 2012 Kindle Fire HD, which features better speakers despite Google touting the Nexus 7's surround sound setup, is the best choice for Amazon Prime users and still starts at $30 less.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 has a more comfortable design, it's screen handles colors more accurately and vibrantly, it includes storage expansion, and some of its UI interface conveniences surpass even what Google's been able to implement so far. However, the Tab 3 will cost you $70 more at starting prices. The new Nexus 7 trumps the iPad Mini's screen in every way aside from size and has faster gaming performance, but the Mini still has access to many more apps and most major game releases debut on iOS first, although simultaneous releases are becoming more common.
Conclusion
The Nexus 7 (2013) easily supplants the original model as the small tablet of choice. It may not be quite as comfortable to hold, but its heavily increased performance, razor-sharp screen, additional features, and all that Android 4.3 brings in tow more than make up for a harder, less grippy back.
At $230, it's more expensive than the top 7-inch tablets from 2012, but it's also much better-performing. In addition, it's cheaper than both the 8-inch Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 and the iPad Mini and yes, performs better than either, despite the former's better handling of onscreen colors.
While it doesn't obliterate the competition, the Nexus 7 has enough improvements to earn the small-tablet crown and is the next best choice to the full-size iPad.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 211 review

samsung-galaxy-tab-3-211-box.jpg

The Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 was a success and proved that there was room in the Indian market for a hybrid device, which combined the best of both phones and tablets. The Galaxy Tab 3 series is hoped to mark a comeback for the company in the tablet segment, after quite some time. The South Korean giant unveiled the Galaxy Tab 3 series with three new tablets for the Indian market, and rather than experimenting with an odd screen size, this time the company has gone back to its roots and come out with a 7-inch tablet and two 8-inch tablets. We got the chance to play with the new Galaxy Tab 3 211 (7-inch) tablet. Will the new Galaxy Tab 3 211 carve a niche for itself or further muddy the already distinctly murky 7-inch tablet segment? We try to find out in our review.
Design/ Build
The Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 211 is built along the lines of Samsung's high-end smartphones. Out-of-the-box, the tablet looks like a blown-up version of the Samsung Galaxy SIII or Galaxy Grand smartphones. But unlike them, it comes with a 7-inch display that's surrounded by grey trims, which manages to give it a decent look overall.
samsung-galaxy-tab-3-211-front.jpgThe Galaxy Tab 3 211 is built from the same slippery plastic that we have been seeing on Samsung's other smartphones and tablets. This does allows the tablet to be light at 304 grams, a favourable figure compared to other 7-inch slates in the market. At around 1cm (9.9mm) thickness, it is not the thinnest tablet in the market but is comfortable enough to hold.
samsung-galaxy-tab-3-211-physical-key.jpgThe front of the Galaxy Tab 3 211 sports three buttons below the display, a hardware middle-button for home, and two capacitive buttons on either side for back and options menu. The front also houses a 1.3-megapixel camera for video chats and self-portraits, a speaker and the light and proximity sensor. On the bottom side are the stereo speakers accompanied by a Micro-USB port, and the top houses the 3.5mm audio jack.
samsung-galaxy-tab-3-211-bottom-speakers.jpgOther physical buttons on the tablet comprise the volume rocker and power button, which are both on the right side of the device. On the left side, one can find two slots -one for the SIM card and another for a microSD card. We wish that the illustration on the SIM slot was more indicative of the way to insert the SIM into the tablet-we wasted quite a bit of time trying inserting the SIM in the right direction. Samsung has chosen to use a micro-SIM design.
samsung-galaxy-tab-3-211-SIM-slot.jpgThe rear panel of Galaxy Tab 3 211 features the primary camera, which lacks a flash. There is a Samsung logo branding the centre of the rear panel. We felt that the back panel of the device was very glossy and at times slippery after using the device for prolonged periods. We wished that Samsung might have shipped the tablet with a soft touch material at the back, or even a textured back, which would have solved the issue of slipperiness.
One can even make phone calls using the Galaxy Tab 3 211 like one does with a regular phone, using the integrated microphone. We felt the tablet had the right width to hold in one hand, and it was relatively comfortable making/taking calls. However, our recommendation is to not put it next to your face, and use the supplied earphones instead.
Display
The Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 211 comes with a 7-inch TFT display with a resolution of 1024x600 pixels, which translates to a pixel density of 169ppi (pixel per inch). The display resolution of the Galaxy Tab 3 is far lower than some of its 7-inch competitors in the same price segment, such as the Nexus 7 (2012) which has a resolution of 1280x800 pixels.
Aside from screen resolution, the Galaxy Tab 3 211's display is let down by its colour reproduction, which is not particularly accurate and the colours appear to be washed out. We noticed that the screen is very reflective and this hampers visibility under the sunlight. Viewing angles were also not that great.
samsung-galaxy-tab-3-211-screen.jpgDue to the low resolution of the Galaxy Tab 3 211's screen, images and videos played on the tablet appear less sharp. Although text does not appear very sharp, the screen is good for reading e-books and magazines.
The touch sensitivity of the Galaxy Tab 3 211 is decent and we did not encounter any issues while using the tablet. One of the serious problems we encountered was with auto-brightness, which at times set the screen to very dark, to the extent that we had to switch to manual brightness.
Camera
The Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 211 sports a 3-megapixel rear camera without flash. Picture quality is average and in any case, we do not expect anyone to use the Galaxy Tab 3 for some serious photography- in fact, we do not think one can use too many of the tablets available in the Indian market for serious photography.
sample-shot-flower-pots-635.jpgThere is no hardware button for camera so one has to do with the on-screen buttons. As there is no flash on the tablet, we were not able to take any respectable shots in low-light conditions. The Galaxy Tab 3 211 is slow to focus and produces generally noisy, low-quality images.
sample-shot-merge-1-635.jpgHowever, the Galaxy Tab 3 211's camera app does offer a lot of options like shooting mode such as single shot, panorama, 'Share Shot', 'Buddy Photo Share' and 'Smile Shot' as well as photo effects like negative, black and white and sepia. The camera app also gives an option to change the resolution of the images clicked and can be set to default 3.2-megapixel with 2048x1536 pixels, or 2.4-megapixel with 2048x1152 pixels, among others. The 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera is fine for video chats and self-portraits, but produces predictably grainy images.
Software/ Interface
The Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 211 runs Android 4.1.2Jelly Bean out-of-the-box and comes with company's TouchWiz UI on top. Considering that Android 4.3 Jelly Bean is already out in the market, we were a little disappointed to see Android 4.1 on the tablet, especially given the fact that Galaxy Tab 3 310 and 311 (8-inch variants) ship with Android 4.2. Anyway, we hope that Samsung soon rolls out an update for the tablet's firmware before it gets dated.
As expected with a Samsung 'Galaxy' product, one can hardly notice any vanilla Jelly Bean interface on the tablet, as everything has been completely customised with the TouchWiz UX UI. While we felt some of these tweaks of the UI were good, but others were totally redundant, like the unwanted default touch sound, which cannot be turned off, until you select the profile Silent on the Galaxy Tab 3 211.
The app drawer is on the bottom right side of the homescreen, and opens the menu divided in three sections apps, widgets and downloaded apps. The notification tray and quick access settings for Wi-Fi, GPS, sound, screen rotation, Bluetooth, mobile data, blocking mode, sync and power saving mode are located at the top area in the notification tray of the Galaxy Tab 3 211, in a manner which is a bit different from the stock Android interface.
screenshot-merge-2-635.jpgThe Galaxy Tab 3 211's user-interface spans three homescreens, to which more can be added if required. The homescreen can be further customised with app shortcuts and widgets. No real complaints with the Galaxy Tab 3 here, other than the aesthetics of some of Samsung's icons.
Samsung has added a blocking mode feature to the tablet which when enabled, will disable alarm, incoming calls and other notifications - perfect for those moments when you do not wish to be disturbed. The company has also replaced the default Android apps for Calendar, Browser and Email with its re-worked versions, which seem to add no value.
The Galaxy Tab 3 211 does not come with too many preloaded apps, but the ones that are there, are good for normal entertainment, social and office use. On long-pressing the settings option on the front panel, it launches Google Search. Navigation was not a problem either, thanks to some Google apps. The other major feature that Jelly Bean brings is 'Google Now', a voice-based information assistant and an extension of Google Search, and we noticed that the voice search worked well, notwithstanding our accents. The Google Now feature uses cards which are essentially small boxes that offer a set of information ranging from weather forecast, directions, traffic information, scores, appointments, and currency conversion. It collects information based on the user's behaviour, search patterns and location.
screenshot-merge-3-635.jpgConsidering that Samsung has been shipping some smart functions nearly on all its devices (not the budget Galaxy smartphones, though), we expected the Galaxy Tab 3 to ship with some new goodies and even those seen on the company's flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S4. Surprisingly, the Galaxy Tab 3 misses out on some basic Samsung apps like Smart Stay which puts the tablet to sleep mode if not used, using the front camera as it detects the eyes of the users; Multi Window, that allows users to work on two apps by splitting the screen in two; Reading mode, that optimizes the display for paper like readability, and Group Play, which lets users share files with other Samsung devices using the same Wi-Fi network. All the apps have already been seen on previous Samsung devices such as the Galaxy S4.
Performance/ Battery Life
The Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 211 is powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, the company has not specified the chipset, though. It has 1GB of RAM onboard, comes with 8GB of inbuilt storage (roughly 5.5GB user accessible) and supports expandable storage up to 64GB via a microSD card.
Considering there is a fairly respectable dual-core processor running under the hood of the tablet, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 211 manages to chug along just fine. In day-to-day activities the tablet feels smooth enough and you do not see crashes so often. However, we did notice frequent lags in the system even while navigating through the app menu or while loading an app. Things get choppier when playing heavy-graphic games like Vector, Dead Trigger and even Temple Run 2 on the device.
The Galaxy Tab 3 211's 7-inch display is good for viewing movies and videos. The device was able to play full-HD videos and supported popular video formats like .AVI, .MOV and .MP4. While watching movies or streaming videos via 3G or Wi-Fi, the tablet tends to get a bit warm, but this is nothing to be too worried about.
On the sound front, the Galaxy Tab 3 ships with the same music player we have been seeing on previous Galaxy Tab range. The sound is loud and clear with the twin loudspeakers, and even better with headphones. However, our supplied review unit came without the bundled earphones, so we used our own headphones with the tablet. Notably, there is no FM radio functionality on the tablet.
samsung-galaxy-tab-3-211-horizontal-tablet.jpgWe did face difficulties while typing on the Galaxy Tab 3 211 as we had to use both hands in order to hold and type on the device. However, the on-screen keyboard's keys are not cramped and we had no problems hitting them easily, when using both hands.
As a surfing device, the Galaxy Tab 3 211 worked well, and loaded the browsing Web pages fast. It supports flash and we had no problems checking out our favourite YouTube videos on the tablet.
The Galaxy Tab 3 211 tablet's dialler feature is very similar to the one found on Galaxy smartphones. We did not face any problems with the calls (no call drops), and clarity was acceptable. The Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 211 comes with a 4000mAh battery, which we feel is adequate, especially if playing music, browsing the Web and watching videos are a major part of your daily usage.
In our rundown battery test, the Galaxy Tab 3 211 was able to play about five hours of continuous video (720p HD) with full charge and brightness set on auto, which we think is not at all bad. We were able to get about 8 to 9 hours of standby time on the tablet with push notifications for emails, Facebook, texts and WhatsApp with some browsing on the Internet and talking on the device with calling.
samsung-galaxy-tab-3-211-rear-camera.jpgWe were able to get about 16 to 18 hours with normal usage that includes Wi-Fi turned on for all time, Web browsing, a few calls lasting for not more than half an hour, display set on auto-brightness and with the usual push notifications for messages, emails, Facebook, and WhatsApp. Though with heavy usage on the Galaxy Tab 3 211, that included brightness set on full level, calls lasting for about an hour, 3G turned on all time, watching videos for around two hours through YouTube and also on the device, few hours of heavy graphics gaming, and with usual notifications for messages, emails, Facebook, Twitter and WhatsApp, the device lasted for about 8 to 9 hours, which is decent enough. However, adjusting these settings can help in increasing the durability of the tablet for longer period.
Verdict
We liked the form factor of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 211, and must admit that we had no problems operating it one-handed (except for typing messages or emails). The tablet performed well with its responsive touchscreen, and decent battery life. We were not very convinced that it can be actually used as a phone on a regular basis but the Galaxy Tab 3 does represent a good attempt to combine a 7-inch tablet with a mobile phone.
As we mentioned, the Galaxy Tab 3 211 has some flaws, such as the low-res and washed out display, the below average camera, the lack of FM radio, and the slight but noticeable lag when performing heavy multitasking or gaming. Yes, we would also have liked some more preloaded apps from Samsung, but then what is the Google Play store for?
The Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 211 is priced at Rs. 17,650. Unless you are willing to accept the above failings, and the slightly higher price, we would suggest users look at other voice-calling tablets, including the cheaper, and only slightly out-dated, Galaxy Tab 2 P3100 (Review), which ships with Android 4.1. We would also recommend the newly-launched Micromax Canvas Tab P650 with voice-calling, available for Rs. 16,500.
